If you ask me, all i really do in my band is get a basic progression or pieces of a good blues/classic rock song and improvise the crap out of it with everyone.

My favorites to jam to are:

Booker T and the MG's-Green Onions
Stevie Ray Vaughan-Mary had a Little Lamb
....Little Wing, Hideaway, Red House, Lenny, a variation of I've got rhythm for our jazz improv jams, and a couple of Allman Brothers songs.

What do you guys like to jam on?

Something off of Eat a peach???

we like to do 'samba pa ti' to jam on ... 'europa' works well too ... from the ABB, we do 'southbound' or 'whipping post' or 'you dont love me'

'all blues' by miles davis is also fun ... you can take it in alot of directions if everyone is really listening

i love southbound, really catchy in your face blues.

I LIKE MEGADETH LOL
jk
how about 'hotel california' -- really easy to jam to
lol

ac/dc songs are pretty easy to jam to, since they're based on blues.
'the ocean' by led zeppelin is also good

I liiike Johnny B. Goode, What a Woman by Howlin Wolf, Rude Mood and Hide Away by SRV, Rockin Daddy by Howlin Wolf/ Shake For Me by SRV, Scuttle Buttin by SRV, thats all i can really think of righhhht now.

'Rude Mood' is great. It's hard to do it how srv does it though
with teh palm mute in between
i'm still trying to get that down.

Ya its such a fun song, im getting it down pretty good, ive been practicing it for over a month.
