What is the heaviest guage I can get for an electric guitar?
dunno if there are thicker strings but the thickest i've came across are zakk wlyde 11-70 GHS.
AKAIK the thickest srtings you can get go upt to 80 but don't ask me where to get those and which sets they would come in(probably would have to buy single strings)
You could make your own sets using some bass strings as well... but at that point you might just as well buy a 6 string bass.
A lot of tuners won't except strings bigger than those commonly made, either. I know the largest string you can get into a Sperzel is about a 54.
