So I want to pickup a good backup axe. Having a single electric, and it being a floyded guitar is not a great idea if/when performing. And I want something a little easier to maintain at times. I haven't the cash for it at the moment but I have a grand on my musicians friend card. So it's gonna have to be from there too. So that's my spending limit, and it has to be from MF. What was ideal for me was the Schecter C/SH-1 which is basically a semi hollow body with string through, really nice guitar. But I was very pissed to find out MF doesn't carry this guitar although all other major retailers do.

So if you guys can recommend something by any manufacturer. I'm looking for a set neck hardtail of some variety. Can be solid body or semi hollow, dual humbucker. Preferably semi-hollow, 22 fret. But anything you guys come up with is game.

NO EPIPHONES!! I hate them with a passion.

Schecter dude, Schecter. C-1 Blackjack is the first guitar that came to mind.

I should add that I don't want some goofy metal-looking axe. lol

I used to own a C-1 Plus and the only C-1 I like now is the Semi hollow.

yeah taht might have helped a little bit.

How much you want to spend?

I know a lot of bands use the ESP LTD EC-1000 because they sound great, come well finished and are beasts for touring.

Screw that! Garbage! I owned like 6 of them! lol junk!

from : localhost/really want this guitar, semi-hollow and piezo pickup for acoustic tones also. Awesome!

We need to build this guy a Marmotcaster.

What about a hardtail ibanez like THIS ONE.? I tried a few different variations on the model and they were quite good.

I knew someone was going to say that. I REALLY don't like this one because the body is larger, and I have no use for a piezo. I also believe this one is fully hollow despite the description. The C-1 semi hollow is a much better choice for me.

This is what I'm talking about:
Tele Thinline?

That particular one costs a god damn fortune, but I'll look into those too.

I recommend the Dean Hardtail Select. I have been very impressed with every Dean I have tried.

Yes, but they're great guitars even with the thin neck.

Really? The one I tried was around $1000. Not much more than your Gamp;L. Maybe i tried a different one with less expensive options. Same basic axe though.

Perhaps you could buy some musiciansfriend gear and sell it on ebay for the cash?

You'll regret not geting what you truely want.

B2D, that model goes for around 1300(ish) IIRC.

You are too picky.
