Took my Kramer over to Theodie's yesterday to get a refret, and while I was there, I got to check out a couple of guitars. Saw Brisk's USACG neck -- man, was it beautiful. Theodie had a purple-heart Tele half completed. Cool looking wood, and I'll be interested in how the final product sounds. Realized I *still* need to get a Gibson Explorer: the PGn and Custom bridge sounded fantastic in that guitar. But what really got me was his PRS SE Soapbar.

The PRS SE soapbar is relatively simple guitar and Korean made. Just two p90s, a volume control, a single tone control, and a 3-way switch. But, boy, oh boy, was it a player! And that sound! Raunchy, yet thick. I'm really gassing for one!Has anyone else played one?

BTW: need to learn to turn *off* the traction control before going up steep gravel driveways!

I played one for about a week. They are really good guitars for the price. The craftmanship is ok, nothing to write home about IMO. They play and sounds good, though. Would like to have one with better pup's.

I put EMG's in mine. Love the bridge, son't care for the neck, and one of my favorite felling, playing guitars.

That was one classy looking guitar. Very nice, TattooedCarrot.

I think the craftsmanship in mine is top notch stuff. Maybe it was a good day at the factory but, it is well made. About the pickup situation, I put Duncan vintage P-90's in it and the stock PRS P-90's sound alot better so they are staying there. They have earned their keep!!!

BTW, It looks really nice Carrot!!!!!!

Mattpete, The driveway will be paved before the summer is over!!! I cant wait!!
I have similar kinds of problems getting out of here also!!!

My problem was that I got to the top and noticed that the quot;trunk is openquot; light was on, so I lost all of my momentum when I stopped to close the trunk. Then everytime I gassed it and dropped the clutch, the traction control was too aggresive and dropped the revs down to idle.

back on topic: you've got one sweet soapbar SE! My problem is that I also want a bass...I don't know if I should blow money on both or get the bass first.

they are nice guitars... i just sold mine because i thought i had a line on a prs mcsoapy.. but that fell through. now i need another p90 geetar

Yeah, I just tried one out today at the local GC, VERY NICE axe for the money! It had that beautiful P-90 Snnarrrrllll alright (puut it through a Mesa Boogie MKIII)! One I wouldn't mind owning myself and a LOT cheaper than trying to track down a vintage SG Special.
