Hey guys. I'm looking into getting a good recording program. My Roland VGA 3 has a MIDI output so recording shoul be pretty easy. Can anyone suggest a good recording program? I'd just like to be able to record rhythems and then burn a CD for me to solo along with, and also to be able to download new backing tracks and then record me playing ontop of that track, like what alot of the guys do in the Tips and Clips section. Suggestions?

Just let this tread die off, seriously.

Cool Edit Pro works wonderfully, and can be had for free on almost any P2P network.

Cool edit Pro 2 if you want something easy. Cubase sx if you want something pro.

yes

just get a hacked copy of sonar 3.0 producer edition online!

i use cubase sx, im more than happy with it, other than the price its great. infinate amount of tracks, tons of effects built in that you probably wont work and one of the best midi sequencers about, its really great for audio also, which is why i like it so much.

Quencho092 i see in your sig you put the gain on 10 on a 5150, what a waste of an amp, the 5150 over compresses and gets muddy after about 7 on the gain, i keep mine at 5-7 and then its super high gain and still sounds good, doesnt loose clarity. you should try it.

GarageBand?

Fun little app.....good for little projects. I enjoy making backing tracks for myself.

Cool Edit is now Adobe Audition. Great program. Its what I use.Originally Posted by BluesGuyJMy Roland VGA 3 has a MIDI output so recording shoul be pretty easy.

You can't record with a MIDI out. Thats not an audio signal. Its a quot;commandquot; loop. You need a line-out, or similar, to record with.

n-track is cool, too, and they have a decent forum for help and suggestions.
