Yes!!!!!
Hails Guys
Which Emg Single Coil has the same sound as 85 Eq wise?!
i mean, i´m using a 85 neck and 81 bridge in my charvel fusion Dinky... and the body is ash... so, i´m thinking in switching the the other charvel pups to emg, but, the neck slot is a single coil one so... i will need a single coil that has moderate/high output in the neck and a similar organic tone as the 85(compared to 81 it has a more organic tone)

Thank´s for the input Guys
that's simple to answer...........no one.........and the SA's have ABSOLUTELY nothing in common with the emg85.......the emg SLV single coils(steve lukathers) have an increased output so as to match better the OUTPUT of the 85 but i don't think they have a similar EQ.........
So.. Hails AND Thank´s for the answer Fender Greek Man!
well.. which one of the EMG Single coils will give me this sound or at least will come close to it : Smooth and not TIGHT bass, Smooth but not Reduced or scooped Mids(plenty of mid crunchy i mean), and singing Highs, not harsh ?!?!?!

the emg 89 is essentially an 85 that split into an SA (note not exactly these models but the website claims they are similar) so i would choose the EMG-SA to match with your 85.
Huuuuuuuum, i need more input, thank´s man
can anyone chime in and send more info?

Sorry about the confusion folks. I misunderstood the question. I thought JP was asking which one would be good in the neck with an 81 bridge. He seemed to ask, which one has the tone of the 85. Sorry bro!!! I will try harder next time!!!! LOL!!!

any more input guys!?
Far as I know, EMG doesn't make a single coil-sized pickup that sounds like ANY of their 'bucker models. The SA is a damn fine pickup, very warm and tasty, but it doesn't really sound like an 85, more like a hot Strat pickup. The S and the SV's are supposed to be even brighter and more Stratty-sounding. Sorry, bro!
OK man, and the steve lukater model?!!?!
Tell you the truth, I don't really know. I think fenderiarhs is right, the Lukather models have an increased output, but I have no idea what they sound like. Try the EMG website, it's www.emginc.com.
