Here's a quick review. I think they were made in the mid to late 1990. 2x10 tube combo, 2 channel and with reverb.
had a Bass, Mid Treb controls shared by each channel. These only boost so when they are all at 0 you get no sound even when the volume is all the way up

Clean Channel : Pretty good
Dirty Channel : excellent
Reverb: Pretty Weak, it really just puts a little bit of effect to the sound.

The dirty channel has a great sound. I turned it on and right away it nailed Kieth Richards in quot; Can't you hear my knockingquot; . I can add even more gain to get a very nice metal sound. There's a lot of range from just some distortion to full out high gain.

Plenty loud for me.

This amp had the channel-pop when switching channels. Mostly noticable when going from Dirty to Clean ( not the other direction) It was so loud and distracting that I think it limits this amp. I would only be able to use it as a single channel.I give this a Thumbs up for the sound but thumbs down for the channel-pop. I'm not a mechanic so I wouldn't buy it to then need to go see if I could get it fixed (just the channel pop needs fixing)

I have played a few of them. I really like the amp!! has a class A, A/B switch. tones varied from old zz-top to new XXX style zz-top, it would easily handle 80's rock, and metal. I didn't have a chance to run it through a 4x12 cab, but I am sure it would sound even better. I liked the 2x10 tone it had. Makes me want to try to make a 2x12, 2x10 cab.

Where was the amp (what store)?

How long did you play it...did you get to turn it up at all?

Thanks.

All of the ones I played were used. One at GC, and another at a local store. I played them for over 40 min each. I was actually able to open them up a bit (volume over 50%) enough to really work the power amps.

I played it at a persons home. It was posted for sale on Craigslist (Boston, MA) if your interested. Anyway I played for about 15 minutes total. It was set to Class A. The guy who owns it had turned it on quite a while before I arrived so that it was warmed up. I played it at about a band practice level, since it is a 3 family place I didn't feel comfortable cranking it full up.

Just to clarify my first post -- I was satisfied with the clean sound and I think the distortion sound was very good indeed. In the short time I played it I found that it has a lot of different sounds. If not for the (well document) channel-pop I would have been happy to buy it in a heart beat and I had cash in hand . Personallyl I cannot stand any weird noises that amps or guitars make e.g. I can't stand single coil hum,.

Those amps have the best crunch distortion of any Fender amp, I've ever heard. It's one of my all time favorite amps period. I've only played the head thru a Fender Tonemaster 4x12 cab, not the combos. They have a real meaty distortion tone, a lot like a nice Bassman head cranked all the way up.

My friend has one, and it sounds awesome.

Thanks, FB, I might try to check it out if he still has it.

wait...a fender amp...that can handle heavy tones? Damn!

...great thread, you just gave me GAS.

I've always wondered why they discontinued it. It really was a good amp by Fender.
For rock tones, I've always thought the best ones were the newer Pro Tube Series Concert, Twin, and Pro.....and also the Prosonic combo and head.

I've heard alot of them have that popping issue when switching channel's. But, I haven't heard of a quot;fixquot; to them either. I loved the amp when I played one many years ago but the popping thing sucks.

Wow this sounds like my dream amp, what's the wattage and how much do they run usually?
