I just got new pickups installed on my strat. Before I got them installed, my bridge was angled so as there was a gap at the back of it. I liked this better because you could raise and lower the tone using the bar, and also the strings always stayed in tune after using the bar.
However, I left my guitar into a shop to get the pickups installed, and the guy put the bridge flat on the guitar. Now I can only lower the tone with the bar and the strings go out of tune very easily when using it.
I want to know is it simple to get the bridge back to an angled position? If I brought my guitar back to the shop would it be easy enough for the guy there to change the bridge back to an angled position? Thanks for any help.
Yep...Loosen the bridge claw screws and retune...Keep doing this until you get anywhere from 3/32quot; to 1/8quot; gap measured at the center rear of your bridge...I Like mine straight across in the back and at around 3/32quot;....The amount of springs depends on your string gauge used? I used to like 3 springs with .010 but now I've added 4 springs with .010....You may have to readjust your string heights..In fact,I know you will..

All right thanks. I'm not sure about the string gauge because the guy at the shop changed the strings while installing the pickups and I don't know what they are. But if I asked him to change the rear of the bridge to a gap of 3/32quot; to 1/8quot;, he should be able to do that for me yeah? Thanks.

If it were me...I'd take it back and let the tech know that you liked the bridge the way it was before? If you didn't tell him to change the bridge positioning, why did he take it upon himself to change it? Let him change it back?...

Yeah I didn't tell him to change it. I bought the guitar from that shop so he should know what it was like when I bought it. Anyway I'll bring it in on Monday. Thanks for your help man
