Check this out Gibson made a limited run of 30 Judas Priest signature guitars that you have to buy as a set. both an SG and a V. plus both have some STRANGE options. the SG has an odd bridge on it and the V has plastic saddles on the ABR-1 bridge...oddd.
still kinda cool that they did it though.

the SG has a EMG in the bridge and some kind of passive int he bridge... i hate pickup rings on a guard... i don't really care for either. Someone has the set for sale on Gbase
wierd SG, i would take the Iommi sig over it anytime.
I wonder how many millions of dollars Gibson wants for these? LOL!
I think pup rings look alright on that style sg, because the pickguard alone looks so damn cheap (partial to the small guard myself). SGs alright. Vs boring.

Those are some weird guitars, what exactly would plastic bridge pieces do? lol
Norlin used plastic saddles for quite a long time in the 70's. SOme guys really like them. The John Lennon Casino as well as the Eric Clapton 335 have plastic saddles...I for one can't stand them...nor can I really stand either of those guitars...plastic saddles, EMG pickups, goofey bridges, 1 9/16 nut widths...not on my Gibsons!

EMG 58?
do they mean EMG 85
no, EMG makes a 58 model. According to their web site it's sort of a PAF, but very noisy compared to their other active pickups.
the 85 replaced the 58... it's like comparing the custom with the seth in terms of voicing..

those gibsons SUCK.
have they ever played gibsons? know i would buy a kk downing hamer........
as huge as a priest fan as i am.....those dont really blow me away. youd probably make more accurate and better copies by just buying an SG standard and a standard V and modding them. ive never known priest to use an EMG 58 (especially not in that SG), or 57 classics. if they wanna be period-accurate, they should both have super distortions
Those are the classic Priest guitars which are from the earliest days of the band... pretty cool, but I'll bet they cost a FORTUNE!
GS
So those are supposed to represent the earliest versions of the guitars they used?
Didn't the '57s come out much later as well as the EMG58??In any event, nothing really special about the V....I could get a faded kinda like that.
Dont both those guys Play Hamer Guitars?
i never said i wanted them or they were good lol. they do nothing for me, just thought the priest fans may get a kick out of them.

As much as I love Judas Priest my Judas Priest/CoC/classic and stoner rock Gibson Gothic SG looks better than Glenn's IMO.

The 58 came out in the 70's. The 57 is a copy of a 50's PAF, soomething was often found on Gibsons during the 70's (as left over 50's gutiars were more common).
FWIW they're both ugly as sin, and if I was really that kind of fan I'd just mod a regular Gibson and make my own.
