Once again the guys at Korg really did their homework when they figured out how to mate their cabs with their amps..

This cabinet rocks...And this is with the new unbroken in speakers(Celestion 8 ohm Neodyiums)...
I played my AS Tele and used one of our forum members DS1s I just modded with my Valvetronix's 30 watt setting.
This cab Sounded great..Loud,punchy,powerful,nice and tight, and the mids seem perfect for the valvetronix head....The cab adds a nice overall stereo ambience that I really liked..The lows make the walls in my music room shake and yet the cab remains strong, loud, clear, and tight...These Neo-Dog speakers really sound great! The clean BF 2X12 clean tones coming out of the head and this cab were great also....Notes fly off the guitar and out this cabinet with tightness and great note articulation....
You can really feel the air coming out of the 2 speakers...The cab is not at all piercing or harsh in the highs and the mids are warm and full sounding...The cabinet has a nice combination of warmth and balls and plenty of what I call quot;correct overall eqquot; of the sound coming out....I played for over an hour and I tryed many different amp settings...

Vox/Korg once again, did a great job of figuring out how to get the best match...I'm very happy with the way the clean and distorted tones sound coming out of this cab, plus it projects very well....Stays nice and tight and punchy...Excellent so far guys! Awesome! I think im gonna go the avatar route myself around christmastime when i get some cash.

Thanks brother....I was leaning that way also, but I'm glad I went with the matching cabinet...It looks really great with the matching head...And I Love the way the cab is reacting to my music styles and the great tones coming out of my VT Vox head...Great match..

Hey Stratman, did you get the chrome stand in the picture? I bet that would even further enhance this incredible combo's projection. Enjoy the new cab. Scott

Yea you have to get that stand, it reminds of The Who so much. If that stand isn't jacked through the roof, you have to buy it for fun.

Guys...The stand looks very vintage cool, but I didn't buy,nor do I know if it's possible to buy by itself? Northcoast Music sells you the stand but only part of buying the VTX head and the AD 2x12 cab....The 4x12 stand was like $300 and I don't think I need the stand that bad if it's that pricey...

I have a nice Vox cover for my head and so I'll now order one for the cabinet...The cab sounds really great and I can't wait until the speakers loosen up a bit....Wow...These speakers seem very efficient and they pump out lots of volume and air...

The Celestion website shows the speaker having an SPL sensitivity of 102 db based on 1 watt at 1 meter..Compared to around 99 for the V30s....I'm guessing this cab has basically the 80 watt per speaker Neos but Vox got together with Celestion and had them tweak the speaker a bit...I'm guessing it's a cross between the Century Neo and the Vintage...The speakers are great regardless....I'm very happy with what I've heard so far...

Bumped again for my vox buddy quot;Jumpmarinequot;

That's just great John......add more fuel to the fire! LOL, glad it sounds great. You know it's getting really hard to set the priority on gear purchases now. Cab, guitar, pedals, pups, amp, etc.... They are all equally needed. So what are your impressions of the Marshall settings with the Neo's? I kind of thought that they were overly compressed through my buddy's 120 combo. It sounded good mind you, but I prefered the v30's in that situation.

Haven't tryed the UK 70s or UK 80s yet,but the BF 2x12 setting with a modded DS1 sounds great(Like an 800 Marshall should sound)...The Vox settings sound great,as usual,also!

I'll mess with things more today after I finish my many projects and physical therapy later on my back....

So far what I do love about this cabinet, and I'll repeat my earlier postings....

The cab is nice and tight overall..
The lows stay tight and focused
The cabinet seems loud and efficient
I don't hear any cabinet buzzing or rattles..
The mids sound perfect from what I've heard with some of the models and some pedals..
Plenty of highs, but the highs don't seem shrill or overly toppy and the highs seem to EQ great with the mids....

The coolest thing about this cab and these speakers,is the way the notes are punchy and seem to jump out of the speakers quick...It's hard to explain but it has alot to do with the cab staying nice and tight, articulate, and focused when playing with alot of volume and some gain...It doesn't at all turn to muddy tone...It's like the transient response is real quick...Not saggy but tight and punchy....I Like sag also in my tube amps, but this amp benefits from the tightness and the way it reacts with the VT head...At least I think it does? LOL

Using pickup magnets as a comparison and example...The Neo speakers act like the way a ceramic magnet would act compared to say and A5 magnet and something like the V30 speaker...The tone is tight, punchy, and very direct and articulate...You wouldn't think that all of these characteristics are good, but for some reason it all works out nice? I know it's early and I'm on the honeymoon with the cab,but normally if I Like something pretty much straight up,then I'll like it even more once I get past the learning curves...

The clean Fender tones(even with the closed back)are jangly with nice mids, and the cabinet has a nice fullness that works perfect with the head..It is a great match and it makes perfect sense to have this cab...I wish you lived close so you could plug in and hear what I'm saying brother...

After the speakers loosen up some,I'm sure some of the tightness will go away and the cab will warm up a bit,but it's great right out of the box....I'm just so impressed with the Valvetronix Vox stuff...

John

I just got done using the new AD 2x12 cab with lots of other presets....I was able to get some really good UK 80s tones now...The mids are different with this cab and speakers...More than likely I'm now hearing what I was missing with my other cabs and I was compensating for those mid losses with the Boss EQ pedal...I don't think I'll need to use the Boss EQ now? So far I've not heard any amp model that I've not liked coming out of this cab....The 59 Bassman tone is a bit too tight, but it's still a great tone..

Another cool trick is to dial up the UK70s model...Crank the gain and volume and master volume level up all the way(I'm using the 30 watt setting),dial the bass up almost all the way also, but use the Treble Boost effect to add more gain and balls to the Plexi model...Roll your guitar volume off and clean your tone right up...I'm able to do this with the UK 80s model, but of course it has enough gain and so doesn't need the treble boost pedal...The UK80s model no longer has that generic sounding grating midrange tone that bothered me so much before, but again,it'll be a different amp and cab with my band and I'll probably have to readjust alot...?????

I'll have to see how the cab does with my band, but I really think this cab will fix the midrange problems I had with 2 other cabs I tryed....The Marshall V30 4x12 is great, but it's too much cabinet and the clean tones are lacking...This 2x12 should be the ticket...It's light, sounds great, and looks cool also...
