Hi,
I have a CC in my bridge(I like it), but planning on getting something else. How would it sound in the neck position of my mahogany washburn?
Thanks
Sean
Uhhhhh... probally not good at all! It would probally sound muddy as hell.

Wow, exactly what I was thinking.
Tol the problem you'll run into is a large mid-spike in the neck slot with less firm lows and a smooth high end, all of these contributing to a muddy sound. What is it about the CC you don't like?

A Custom Custom would be my last choice for a neck bucker...if you like the CC in the bridge then leave it in there. An alnico II Pro is a great match for the CC, you should also look into a Seth Lover or a PG.
or a phat cat neck.
I just had a CC put in the bridge and a Phat Cat put in the neck of my SG Standard and I'm happy to say it's the nicest sounding guitar I've ever owned. Punchy, vibrant, warm, simply amazing. I will post a longer review after playing it a few more times as I just had them installed.

It might work...why don't you try it and let us know?
It would be very muddy unless you kept it very low. The CC is already a warm bucker, and in the neck it would get muddy (acoustically, the neck position is naturally much more bassy than the bridge position).
Why change it? If you like it, keep it in there.
I think I am going to keep it in there and experiment in a different/new guitar. Thanks for the info and sorry about the slow reply. When it went to the second page of posts with 1 reply I figured it was over.

It's all a matter of timing, bro. Sometimes, the people who can answer our questions are not online when others are starting/responding to a bunch of threads.
