as the LP can be heavier than other guitars (SG, Strat etc) which sitting position is best when playing it? sometimes we can really feel the weight of it resting on the right thigh. how to avoid this? i mean besides standing..

put the butt of the guitar between your legs. basically rest it on your left thigh and tilt the neck up, resting it on both legs.

sissy...lol...just rest it on your right thigh in the cut out of the guitar and play hahahaha just bustin your balls. that's how i do it with no problems.

You could hold it classical style.

Play your Les Paul like Les Paul does, sitting classical style with it between your legs (V's are great this way too).

That's exactly what I do. However, I really don't like to sit and play the guitar. Even when I'm in a store trying one out, I always ask for a strap.

If I'm watching TV with the family, I sit on the edge of the couch with the cutout over my thigh.

cut means the normal cut right? like playin a jumbo right? i have no complains about the shape, just getting used to the weight.

TC, i've tried the classical style but its kinda weird having the axe between your legs right? hhehehe.

This could get dirty.Sorry bro. I don't have any suggestions. I've only ever played them standing up, since I don't have one of my own. It always helps to make the best quot;I'm in serious painquot; look that you can muster. Even if it doesn't help the weight of the guitar, it looks more impressive.

I always play with a strap on.
That way the straps supporting the guitar.
Not my leg or my hands.
Trying to play and balance a guitar at the same time really restricts hand movement.

I usually play it in classical style (with the left leg proped up on something), like the picture above.

If I'm doing alot of riffing though I find that position kinda tiring, so I'll sit on the edge of a stool and let the guitar drop between my legs to the full length of the strap, so the guitar more or less is in quot;standingquot; position, even though I'm sitting.

Most of the time however I play standing up.

my suggestion was classical style, i just couldn't get it out right.
