Hello All,
I'm going crazy over here, I want a new guitar and ****** if there aren't too many choices to make. Now I'm thinking of getting a P90 equipt guitar. I was wondering if Gibson makes a Les Paul Studio with this pickup configuration.
Any info would be helpful.
Also any suggestions that might fit this similar config are also, most welcome.

I don't think there is a studio that comes stock with p90s. A lot of peope like agiles, (rondomusic.com) i think they have p90 equipped les paul style guitars.

XSSIVE is selling a Schecter Tempest which fits the bill.

Gibson did a studio with p90s a few years ago. It was called a Gem series, and had a bunch of special finishes. they pop up secondhand now and again, and are very cool guitars.

I really like the lower-cost PRS SE soapbars. Great necks, and much better ergonomics than gibsons. I prefer the pre-lawsuit singlecuts to the doublecuts, so I hope they'll start making them again. I reckon they're the best value in p90 guitars.

Gibson also do a faded doublecut special at the moment. They're quite cool, but I prefer doublecut specials and jrs (I own a jr).

Fender do a few p90 guitars now. have a look around for a strat-o-sonic. Very cool guitars and US s/h prices are pretty good. Nice if you really like strats but want a p90 vibe.

Overall, my fave p90 guitars are the Gibson 56ri LP and the McCarty soapbar, but they're in the higher end of the market, price-wise.

Except it comes with EMG85s...and is UTTERLY AMAZING!!

you could get the lp studio and simply install some duncan phat cats in there!

Not quite the same as a quot;full sizequot; Paul...but a bad@$$ little guitar.

Or find a good used Deluxe and drop some P-90s in it.

The best thing to do if you have to have a Gibson is look for one of those Les Paul Studio Gem's...those were pretty cool guitars to be honest...some of them were strange colours but some of them looked killer as well or look for a 2000 or 2001 reissue Deluxe and pull the minis and drop in P-90's. Short of that I have to be honest...I went and checked out the PRS SE stuff after all the rave reviews here on the forum and I was impressed for sure...killer necks, slab mahogany bodies, wraparound tailpieces, P-90's...you can't loose, they really are killer guitars.

oh yeah, if I had $900, she'd be coming home to me right now!! I've been wanting a P90 axe for a while. Local shop has one of those agile goldtops with the p90's. Great guitar, and it's before Agile changed their body shapes! So it's the les paul shape for real, with the old headstock that was like an exaggerated open book headstock. Great looking/playing/sounding guitar...just can't justify putting the money into it
