So my 80's Strat looks similar to SRV'S Number 1. I'm not after his exact sound, just something similar, kinda in the ball park.
So i'm thinking of doing a make over. Getting all the Gold parts for her, and a left handed Tromelo.
But i'm waiting for the new Noisless Pickups to come out too see how they will go in her? Any other idea's or things i should know or do to her?

The lefty trem is NOT! a Exact drop in fit. you may need to route one side a Lil'? and you will most certainly have a gap on the other side. If you look at a good pic of #1 SRV had some wood putty or something in his.

The other issue with a left trem in a righty guitar is the arm doesn't screw in all the way so it kind of sticks you in the wrist or forarm. Ti fix this you will have to thread the arm all the way up to the point where it bends so you can screw the arm down far enough so its out of your way!

Why don't you just lightly relic the strat, so it looks like a naturally worn out Fender....not necessarily like SRV's. I'd forget the gold hardware and lefty trem, but if you want a very close tone to SRV's, get a set of Fender CS Fat 50's. That neck pickup through the right amp nails that tone way better than Noiseless Duncans or Fender Texas Specials. I'll never understand why Fender put Texas Specials in that signature guitar.....maybe because the Fat 50's came out a year after the model was introduced? They should switch over, but can't because SRV never heard the Fat 50's. He woulda chose those though.

In so far as pickups go, Cesar Diaz said that SRV favored Strat pickups in the 6K or under range. He did not use overwound pickups. The new Stack Plus pickups will do a very credible job of sounding like vintage Strat pickups...they're what I'm using these days although I still love the more open and more transparent tones of the Antiquity Surfers. I'd recommend the Surfers or the new Stack Plus. Lew

If there are two things there enough of in the world it's players trying to sound like SRV and players trying to look like SRV......

lol, i'm not trying really to sound or look like him, well kinda sorta. As i said, the pickups dont have to be like him, just vintage strat i suppose. Now i look at the left hand trem, i dont think it would work well for me, although, a black pickguard would be nice. Hmmm. Maybe i should just replace the hardware with some nice high end chrome stuff? Any reccomendations there?
I think i'll go with Lew's suggested with the pickups, the new noisless sets coming out.

Just don't buy a silk kimono and a wide-brim hat. The general public gave SRV a pass over his appalling fashion sense due to his unbelievable soulfulness. they are unlikeley to do the same with you.
