I'm thinking of trading my Delay and bass limiter pedals for a case which i'm in greater need in, but i think i will miss the delay pedal. I have a Digitech DigiDelay, and to be honest, i don't know a thing about delay pedals in general, i just know how the digitech work. I wonder, should i keep the Digitech or should i get something else?

Remember, were talking pedals here, i can't afford racks!

Line 6 DL4, probably THE most versatile delay out there right now. Not sure, but you could prolly find a used one for around 200bucks or so. defintly worth the cost

IMO the digidelay is hard to beat if you dont wanna spring for the line6 one.. i like it more than the DD-3 (which i have )

Okay I'm a satisfied long-time BOSS abuser so it's biased but I just LOVE their DD6 pedal. I use it with 2 cranked amp and it doesn't colour the tone in any way plus it's silent like a dead man. You won't get a better one in its price range. You may also check the BOSS DD20 giga delay. It's programmable, just like the otherwise magnificent Line6 DL4.

Man, the DL4 is the only L6 product that impressed me but it did the thing with an unhealthy dose. It's an AWESOME delay pedal. You can't go wrong with that, either.

There is also a Yamaha UD STOMP delay pedal that equals with the DL4 considering conception and sound quality, for approx. the same price. It is may also worth checking out.

Good luck...

I'm an analog effect type of guy but I will say that delays should be digital... you can just do so much more with them. I've got a Boss DD6 (their latest) and got it modified by AnalogMan (who installed a mini toggle to cut the highs out of the delayed signal. The stock pedal is great but the mod warms it up and makes it sound very close to analog, if that's important to you. You can get the pedal used for lt; $100 and I think his mod is like $50?

i would have to say the Boss GigaDelay, 23 seconds of feedback.... damn its good!

I like Danelectro's quot;Reel Echo.quot; It realistically mimics the old tape delay units.

The Boss DD-20.

If you want a cheap reliable delay pedal, you might want to try out a boss PS-2 (Pitch Shifter/Delay). They're pretty versatile little guys that can act as a delay very similar to a DD-3. They can also double as a chorus in a pinch, and have stereo outs so you can play with two amps at the same time. Boss doesn't make them any more, but you can probably pick one up on ebay for 60-70$ . . .

I got a Boss DD-5 which is great for me. Heard god things about the Digitech and Line6 stuff, though.

I'm going to be a snob and suggest picking up a nice analog delay.

I rather like my Maxon AD-80, although be careful as the older models do not come equipped with true bypass and therefore dull your tone a bit when the effect is off.

They have short delay times (10 - 300ms) but I find that it's all I ever need.

Come on, I know you can't resist the temptation to crank the repeat all the way up and send yourself into self-oscillating heaven

Typically this model runs around $200 on eBay. Also check out the Boss DM-2, or if you're really willing to shell out the cash, a Way Huge Aqua Puss.

the line6 DL4 is worth it for the looping alone, but you get great sounding delays too.
