I got a Lil 59 for my Nashville Tele today and got it installed. The 59 in the bridge sounds great by itself, but when I use position 2 amp; 3 on the 5 way switch the tone kinda sucks!!! I honestly can't figure out how to wire it the way I want. Here is my idea. I want to be able to split the 59 and have a setup similar to what I had before with my Fender single coil bridge. The dealer I bought this from gave me the 500k CTS push pull and another 500k to match the p/p. Is there a decent diagram that will help me make sense of the p/p pot and my idea?
what exactly is sounding like crap?
If you just want to split a humbucker with a push/pull pot, take the red/white wires to the center lug, then ground the lug immediately above that.
Use this diagram as a reference:

It shows the basic concept. You'ld want to ground the top lug rather than the bottom.
There's another way to do this using the 5-way, depending on what the pup configuration is, and what you want. Is it an HSS setup?
Ok the part that sounds like crap is position 2 and 3 on the 5 way. A Nashville Tele comes with the traditional Tele config plus a Strat Texas Special in the middle. Position 2 on the 5 way give that great Strat tone like on Sweet Home Alabama the middle position (3) combines the bridge and neck pup. Both two and three just sound way off.

Im not sur what you mean by quot;sounds way offquot; is it too bright, to fat, not the correct pickups being selected...try to help us help you

I'm guessing the '59 is out of phase with the stock Fender pickups. Assuming you've got the Red and White leads soldered together, swap the Black and Green leads.

if hes is counting quot;1quot; being the bridge and quot;5quot; being the neck then you might very well be right...
