I'm not usually a Bigsby fan. I'm not usually a trem fan. But I saw Rev. Horton Heat in concert this last weekend and suddenly...

On record (with the possible exception of Lucky 7, the one record they put out on Artemis) I don't usually find the Rev. to be as interesting as bands like Tiger Army, The Horrorpops or Nekromantix, but I have to admit that I found the Rev's show to be very engaging. And their stage personas are a lot less laughable than those of the other bands I mentioned. Good music, those other bands. Ridiculous sense of macabre theatricality, though.

Luckily I can accompligh almost as much vibrato as a Bigsby is capable of providing simply by pushing on the neck of my Tele (or now, of my '51). Still, quot;a guitar with a bigsbyquot; has now joined quot;a hollowbodyquot; and quot;a guitar with P90squot; on my GAS list. It looks so cluttered. Lose the pickguard, flashy pickup rings, bigsby and off color headstock and it would rule.

No dude, it's a Tele done up to look (and probably sound) like a Gretsch hollow-body. Those Filter-trons are instantly recognizable.

That guitar or one exactly like it was in the Fender booth at NAMM this year. You should see it in person! A work of art!
