Hi all, this is a weird thing and I got no clue.
I have this touch-wah pedal, Guyatone Wah Rocker (WR-2 model). Lately I noticed that it affects my guitar's tone even after I switch it off. Like the tail of the sound gets amplified and only slowly returns to the original (uneffected) volume.
I have always used the pedal with batteries and never noticed this. This time I used it with an adaptor. Could this be the reason?
Also, I had a guy modify the pedal to true bypass. But he couldn't do it - the DPDT switch was too big to fit in the casing, so he restored it back to its original condition. He's an expert (he designed a pedal line for a renowned local brand) --- but still, can it be that he did something to cause this?
If you have any idea, please chime in.
Thanks
Tony
Is it possible that this is the reason you wanted it to be true bypass?
It sounds strange, try the pedal with batteries, or with a battery/wall wart adapter (those plugs for the 9v wall supply that are essentially a 9v clip, the ones yu can use to make any pedal ac powered) and see if it´s still around... It may be the power supply or the pedals external power circuit (which SHOULD in theory be the same circuit as the internal battery one on most, but who knows...)

Thanks, Zerb. But no, the reason why I wanted the thing to be true bypass is that I have five boxes (including this one) in front of my amp's input and I simply wanted to save some tone.
I tried it with batteries and it did it again (oops, I did it again ). So either the pedal has always been like this and I just didn't notice in the heat of the gig, OR the guy messed it up somehow, which I am reluctant to believe.
OK, I'll try to live with it. After all, it's not such a big deal because of the way I use it.
Thanks anyway.
