I haven't seen it but it means Gibson's gone mainstream to me. I'm no businessman but I believe when you start advertising on TV it means your business has shifted to a completely different level.
Kind of makes me think that instead of expending HUGE amounts on TV commercials, they should boost their quality control. At least, that's the impression I get here on the forum when people complain of Gibson's poor quality.
I don't mean to slag Gibson though. Let's put it this way: I just hope they know what they're doing. A Guitar Player article mentioned an effects company that went bankrupt, adding quot;we believe it had something to do with those huge full-color two-page spreads in GPquot;.

yes i agree my original post i deleted because it was sounding rantish but yeah i dont think its gonna be a good thing because that means that its gonna increase demand and that usually means rush jobs and the need to push through shoddy guitars most people that watch these commercials wont know a lot of these minor flaws but as far as musicians go i can see it getting disasterous and they really do need to improve there quality which again i think will take a backseat to faster work
i noticed the less demand the better quality the guitar
ex: Luthier as opposed to MIM Fender
