Alright, so some of you may know I'm trying to get a hold of a single-cut with a Floyd Rose. Well crew, with the wonders of Warmoth, I'm finally gonna end my cheap ways and get something that will be original and creative.
Anyways, I've decided on an Ash Tele. Recessed Schaller Floyd Rose so I don't have to add $10 for an angled neck pocket (plus I'd like to experiment with raising the pitch of notes without bending). Maple neck with an ebony fingerboard (or maple board, but I'm not 100% positive).
Anyways, I'm getting all jittery just trying to write this, so I'll cut the fluff and get to the question.
What trembucker-spaced pup would sound somewhat like an Invader in a Northern Hard Ash guitar? It will be run straight through a volume pot, no tone. I'm also looking for plenty of bass and mids, crunchy gain, gives a warm lead sound, just listen to 'Broken Man' or 'Albatross' by Corrosion of Conformity to hear what I'm talking about. I'm guessing either a trem-spaced Distortion, Custom 5, or Custom Custom. I'm not really looking for cleans that much, but it would be great if it would lose a lot of gain when the volume knob is rolled off to about 3-4.
Sorry for the long post, and it may be difficult to answer, but I tried to specify everything in this post. And it's also 2 AM, so sorry if it doesn't make total sense
Bump.
Whats wrong with an invader its self?
The Invader isn't trem-spaced is it? Or would it still work due to the huge pole pieces? If it would work with a Floyd Rose, then that'd be my ultimate choice.
But thank you for making me think quot;outside the boxquot; so to speak. Appreciate it.
