I tried to do a search on drop tuning or drop-b tuning but came up with nothing.
This question is also a little specific too:
If I tune my sixth string down to B would it be adviseable to use a .60 gauge sixth string? I got some advice on another forum but just wanted to double check before I go messing around with my guitar.
Thanks.
A .60 B will be fine, that's what I used on my 7-string.
Great!

wow! u might wanna look into a baritone.
I've found anything from 56 to 74 works well, with 58 amp; 60 being my favorites.
that's a little intense...i wouldnt know anything about this besides the fact that strings turn to rubber bands when tuned low enough for them to dangle low. Get not even slinkys and consider it done.
I tune my guitars down to (low to high) Bb F Bb Eb G c. I used to use D'addario 13- 56s but just moved up to 12 - 52s. The lighter gauge actually stays in tune better and its alot easier to bends.
I use 12-52 D'Addario Jazz Lights w/ wound G, and usually tune to dropped B.
Perfect for me.
just don't tune up to standard with them gauges unless you don't mind tuning issues..ha ha ha
If you have a floyd add a spring if you don't already have all of them there. This will help string tension and the flappieness.....hah aha ha I never used that word before!
LONG LIVE THE FLAPPIENESS!!Flappieness is in the eye of the beholder!
o.k that wasn't funny.
