hey,

im currently using my new Boss Sd-1 super overdrive into my single channel Laney LC15R

i have my amp set to dirty and boost it with my pedal to get distortion. what i've noticed about this combination is that it doesn't sound harsh, but it sounds smooth and cutting and the same time. but i have one problem with this: i can't get pure, clean tones that i like..

before i was using my mt-2(sold) into the clean setting of my amp. i didn't like it. too punchy and too harsh. almost to the point that my speakers fart.

i also like the clean channel on my laney very much and im wondering if i could have clean, overdrive, and distortion 'channels' just by using effects..

so my basic idea is clean amp-boss DS-1(example)-Boss SD-1-guitar..

would this work alright? and not sound like a metal zone?

thanks for your input

If you like the tone that you get with those pedals kicked in while your amp is clean, I think that you're golden.

For the record, when I'm only using one amp, I use both channels on my Rectoverb with an original Japanese SD-1 kicked in on the clean channel to get to a crunch rhythm tone.
