I've been looking (unsuccessfully) for the specs to dimebag darrell's orignal dean ML quot;dean from hellquot; guitar. I cannot find the specs anywhere... What I want to know is exactly what specs down to the volume of his volume pot...
If anyone could help me that would be just awesome.

I'll just give this a nice bump before I just look elsewear. Rock On
From what I understand, Darrell's original ML was pretty much stock except for the pickups (which I think were switched out to Bill Lawrence Blade pups, until Duncan made something that he liked) and a Floyd installed. I think the pots were the standard issue at the time for Deans, and I think my Z has 500Ks, but I'll have to check.
I'm not a Dime expert by any means, all I know is the bridge pickup is a Bill Lawrence L-500XL from this company: www.billlawrenceusa.com
If you go over to the Dean Forum, there are a bunch of Dime fanatics there. There is even a Dimbage Darrell tribute area of the forum.

THat´s exactly what I was thinking. THe advertise as quot;the ones in the Dime from Hellquot;, but they ALSO clearly state that they´re the ones they sell at Stew Mac. The Fakes

From what I understand the pickup in the DFH is potted with black epoxy right to the top of the coils, just like the L-500XL I have from the BL USA company. The L-500XL's that Bill sells are not made this way. So it appears the DFH has a so-called quot;Stew-Macquot; L-500XL in it.
The original was won on a contest, shortly after he had already been given an another ML by his daddy. Except for the p-ups it was stock. As a teenie Dime wanted a car so he had to sell one of the deans and although he liked the contest guitar better he sold it because he did not want to hurt his daddy who worked a lot for the dean axe. Years later, Dime ordered a custom shop axe and the luthier had a serious delay. One day the luthier popped up with a box with the blue-bolt painted axe in it and gave it to Dime and told it was his old contest axe. After that the p-ups were changed but besides the famous paintwork and p-up changes there was no modding. That's what rumours say, I don't know if it really was so or not.
Thanks a lot for all the helpOriginally Posted by Jeff_HIf you go over to the Dean Forum, there are a bunch of Dime fanatics there. There is even a Dimbage Darrell tribute area of the forum.
so much on that forum that I'll be looking through it for a while, but it looks like it might have some good info.
