My SD Pickup Booster is great, but sometimes the switch doesn't engage. You really have to stomp on it, I mean hard, to get it to kick in. If you hit it a little softer, and this is only occasionaly, you get a massive drop in volume. Not like it is off completely, but maybe only about 20 percent of the normal volume. Then you have to stomp on it again really hard a few times to get it back to normal.

Anyone else had this problem? Could it be a bad switch?

I haven't had this problem with the SD pickup booster, but I did have it with a voodoo lab sparkle drive...sounds like a bad switch to me....I had my switch replaced and it works fine. If you need to have someone replace a switch, mr. John Spina (Stratdeluxer) can do it for you..he's a regular here and has modded both my TS9 and Sparkle Drives...he's a wonder with a soldering iron

Yup . . . its a common problem with some of the early models. The supplier substituted a cheaper switch than the design called for. SD has since solved the problem, but there's still some of the others out there.

I believe that if you contact tech support, they'll take care of it for you. They sent me a free replacement switch, since I could do the work myself.
(Actually, STRATDELUXER97 ended up doing mine, but thats a whole 'nother story.)

Thanks! I'll try to give tech support a call. I appreciate the help.

Plus, it's always nice to hear from ArtieToo.

I'm sure the SD company will be more than happy to make sure this is resolved.

Contact Evan and he'll tell you what you need to do...
