Hi guys!
My buddy picked up a Fender Texas Special with Pearly Gates bridge and Fender Texas Specials in the middle and neck. I love how the Pearley can still handle the heavy rock while it sounds like a great single coil in split mode when used with the middle pickup. I was wondering if this is a good way to go but with what Duncan singles? How about the new stacks?
Thanks all!
Rich
I don't see why not. the only problem is that the PG like the one in your buddy's strat can only be bought from Fender and only in white.
The PG sits somewhere in between the PG and the 59 in terms of tone and construction, so I would go with either of those two pickups.
Personally, I'm still hankering for a strat with SSL-1's or -2's in the neck and mid and a 59 in the bridge.
