it's actually a double cutaway tele shape that I drew in autocad. I hadn't seen any body do one so, why not?

Thanks Jackson, it should sound cool too. The neck and bridge pickups will be wired like a tele with a 4-way switch (for parallel/series) and the middle pickup can be turned on or off any time witha push-pull switch on the tone control. That looks awsome!!! I like the shape of the pick gaurd. What kind of pickups are you putting in it?

The pickups are from GFS. vintage staggered premium. They have been getting some good reviews lately and they're very inexpensive. If this ends up playing really well I'll probably go with some SD vintage type pups.

I have two more guitars planned with this shape. one has a SD Jerry Donohue bridge and a humbucker neck (fender style split poles), alder body. The other one is swamp ash with JD bridge and Fralin blues tele neck. I have the wood and pups for these ready to go. Rob.

That's a really good shape and quite unique I would say. I quite like your design for the pickguard.

Did you cut the piece of would yourself or did you pass you autocad file to a luthier?

Thanks everyone for the compliments. It makes all (well some) of the mistakes and frustrations easier to take. Did I say mistake? oh yea, like the one I made today while spraying the clear coat. I can't believe how many times I've sanded this thing.

Jazz: I designed to whole thing in AutoCAD then used a cnc router (where I used to work) to make templates only. I routed the body and pickguard myself. I did not want the guitar to be machine made; I wanted to learn how to build it. Rob.
