I've seen a lot of variation on this as I've watched other guitarists. I personally like mine a little higher than usual, somewhere around my stomach.

The other guitarist in my band typically slings his wayyyy high, like up on his chest. Bunch of other guys I've known have slung em pretty low.

So, vote, where do you like it?

I like mine somewhere above my stomach, I do not like slinging em low as I cant reach the lower frets while soloing

mine sit pretty much dead center on my waist.

I usually hang my guitars about my stomach. If it's too low, I don't feel my hands have an easy connection with the instrument, but if it's too high, the guitar gets in my way.

Just below the waist. I wish I could kick it Slash/Page/Hetfield style, but my wrist wasn't designed to bend like that.

A little higher than most, looks kinda nerdy, but oh well. If you turned the guitar forward and kept it at the same height, the cable would hit me in the nuts.

the other guitarist in my band has his ridiculously high...he has to remove his strap from the guitar just to take it off! but hey, he frickin' shreds, so it's all good

Med-high for me too, I'd rather play better/ more confidently than worry about flubbing notes all the time because my axe is dragging on the floor.

I usually play my bass medium high, but sometimes switch to even higher
if I'm playing bass with my thumb.

Does ANYBODY really play like this (unless they're Jimmy Page)?

i used to be in a band with a guy that put his ridiculously high, and it didn't seem to make him any better (well, i hope not, that guy was horrible )

For me, when I sit, the guitar is just about touching my knee- the weight is on my back, and I don't have to bend over into a C shape to play. When I stand, the guitar is exactly the same place on my body, and all the angles of my wrists are the same.

I have all of them set so if I stick my finger in my bellybutton, my finger is right on top of the guitar.
