Women and children run and hide b/c in about two weeks a twin to this sucker is going to be in my home...just got off the phone with Splawn ordering it all...
-Engl Powerball head
-Engl Z5 footswitch
-Splawn 4x12 cab (black levant, black grill, silver piping, chrome hardware) with Eminence speakers (v30 and gt75 clones) since that's what Scott said i'd like for the sound i'm shooting for.
i'm so psyched right now i can't wait to get it and crank it up!!

Congrats,when I graduated from cooking school I wanted to get a shirt that saidquot;Just graduated....want fries with that?quot;
Damn... Those ENGL pack up loads of tone, they're amazing! Do you have to pay any of it?

Qgt;/~
Man, that's going to be an intense setup....In a very good way.
Damn, that's cherry!
So now it seems like you just need the big house and evict any neighbours
Nice score bro. If Scott has to build your cab, think about the Cane grillcloth he offers. Every time I go into his shop it just blows me away. I dig the black, but the cane is extra special. Looks way better in person than on the web page.
Those Engl's are serious amps, I know you'll enjoy it. The cabs that Scott builds are out of this world. They are some of the most well constructed cabs I have ever seen. They look like they would survive a head on collission no problem.
If you want me to stop by and test drive your stuff before he ships it, let me know, someone has to put the first tear in the tolex for you! I have to go get my amp from him at some point anyhow.
Congrats on a great purchase.
I think I'm more jealous that you are done. I am in hell.

thanks man!! now, keep yer paws off my tolex lol tears in it would freak me out haha...i have a 1979 marshall head and 4x12 cab now that was handed down from my brother and it looks newer than the stuff on any guitar centers showroom floor! i'm just real careful with my things...when i used to move that cab and head i would wrap them in bath towels to keep them safe lol (anal much?). i think i'm going to get road cases for the head and cab though...sh!t, i spent enough on them i might as well keep them safe and new looking, i just need to find ones that will fit it. as for the cane it's nice and very classy i agree, but the black just goes very well with the engl mean looking black and chrome amp so i kept it simple and all black and chrome. i was going to go with red tolex w/black grill but i chickened out at the last minute and went all black so i don't get sick of it down the road.
big_black...finishing college was THE BEST feeling ever, just keep telling yourself that every day b/c it's a fact and it will help you push through!

On the day I found out that even if I failed every one of my finals I would still graduate I got my student loan refund check. It also happened to be the same day a buddy of mine just off the cuff asked me twenty minutes after I got the check whether I wanted to go check out a guitar shop about 45 minutes from campus. And, as luck would have it, they had a Clapton Strat, the guitar I promised myself I would buy as a present to myself if I got my college degree.
It was just too fortuitous....
I'm assuming it's got great gain....what's the cleans like on it?
Holy ****in' Jesus...
Man, I could literally kill you with my bare hands for that rig. Thanks for helping the GAS.

I'm going to plug into one at Scotts shop next time I'm there. Here's what Engl says:
The Powerball – ENGL’s new world-class, all-tube head:
The latest in a long line of illustrious amps born in the ENGL sound labs, this tone-generating machine throws open a window to totally new sonic dimension. Uncompromising and relentless when it comes to delivering the tonal goods, this beast gives the ambitious guitarist the tools he needs to carve out a sonic niche of his very own. Courtesy of its dynamo 100-watt power amp and specially selected transformers, the POWERBALL lets out a ferocious roar of bone-rattling low end that to date no other amp has been able to deliver. That bottom end rumble, in combination with ultra-fast, highly dynamic gain response, makes for an incomparable sonic experience. Crystal-clear clean tone, crisp crunch sounds and the punchiest lead sounds ever offered by an ENGL amp turn even the most ordinary session into a physical and auditory event to remember. At ENGL, we have a philosophy about building amps. Take the best of the old – pure tube tone- and marry it to the best of the new – sound- and convenience-enhancing innovations. This is why we equipped the Powerball with a noise gate that can handle even the fastest staccato rhythms while killing annoying hum and buzz. Setting new standards in hard rock/heavy metal tone, this amp is as uncompromising as the music it was made for!
Man . . . thats gonna be such a nice mate to that Tele in your avatar.
Congrats Mike.
clean, what's that...i'm buying it for the gain lol. i'm not too overly picky about my clean sound as i am my high gain sound since i honestly hardly use clean with my stye of music...plus if for some sick reason i don't like the clean (but from clips i've heard i do like it) i have my other two heads that can do clean well...not that i need it anyway lol.
oh and Jeff, wait about 2 weeks or so to go to Splawn and check it out since he said he is out of powerballs but has a bunch in the mail on their way to him and that my head should get there right around the time the cab is done being built or a little after...2 weeks roughly.
