I have a JB (4-cond), and a '59 (2-cond)..
My guitar does not have a ground to bridge.
I get hum when playing in any 3 of the pickup positions. Sounds like 60-cycle hum to me. I've taken a screw-driver to each of the pickup coils, and they are all working. I suspect it could be the tone pot, when I roll the tone pot to 0, the humming stops

The humming stops when I touch the input jack of my guitar, or strangely, it stops when I touch my amps footswitch!

All the grounds in the guitar go to the back of the tone pot. Any ideas about the hum? I thought about taking the tone pot out of the wiring to see if it stops then, but I have no clue how to do so.

Run a bridge ground and the problem should be solved

BTW: When you roll the tone pot off the humming doesn´t actually stop but probably just becomes less apparent

I thought about that, but I have no clue where to drill the hole!

from a bridge stud to the electronics cavity, or from the electronics cavty to the Trem claw, depending on bridge.

*Edit* If you want to test it first, just run the wire from a pot through th hbridge humbucker wiring hole and quot;clampquot; it down with the bridge.... probably better that drilling straight ahead and finding out that wasn´t the actual cause
