I finally found a use for my first ever guitar. I use my les paul for a full, thick, hard rock sound, sometimes in drop D. My delux start is for smooth rock/clean and a bit of blues. Ibanez s470 for more envolved solos etc. Applause electro accoustic for accoustic (obviously )
All played through Marshall TSL60 and 1960 cab.
I want to use my Jim deacon strat copy for really dirty drop tuned stoner rock.
Our other guitarist drops a comadoor flying V and the tones Im getting just dont cut it.
I am thinking hot rail on the bridge, what do you think? It doesnt need to be versatile as I use my other guitars for everything else. I just want a thick, dirty, punch with some twangy tones. kinda nasty sounding really
twangy nasty sounding = lil' '59, dude!
i used to have that setup.. it'll cut through the V in a mix - maybe Vintage rails or cool rails too?
my worry is the hotrail won't be twangy enough, it's got the lowest resonance peak of any SD pickup
tom
hot rails twanged in a very cool way on my alder strat with all-maple neck...for what it's worth.
