O.k. I went into the local guitar shop to look around during lunch, they had just unpacked an Ibanez 321 (I believe that's the model) fixed bridge mahagony body with bound rosewood fingerboard. Made in Indonesia ??

It played well, I didn't plug it in though, they wanted only $265.00 for it....

now I am in the planning stages for a mahagony bodied soloist guitar from warmoth that would be trimmed out pretty darn close to the Ibanez, fixed bridge- dual hums etc...

Now I would change the Ibanez p/u's out before I left the store with it so that bumps the cost to roughly $400.00...the warmoth will probably cost about $700

Is the Warmoth worth the extra extra cost???? Let me know what you think please as I'm kind of G.A.S.sing for that little Ibanez.

IMO, the Warmoth is definitely worth the extra cost. The Ibanez was a solid little guitar, but it's pretty bare bones and I personally didn't care for the Wizard II neck. With a Warmoth you get a fair amount of personalization and of course the quality is top notch. Resale values would hurt you a lot more with the Warmoth though, FWIW.

Here's the one I had, with a DiMarzio Tone Zone/Air Norton combo and a JPM graphics kit from Universal Jems. I sold it a few months ago.
Yea I thought they were made in Korea, I looked on the back of the headstock and it definately said Indonesia....when did they start that??

FretFire, how did you like that guitar?

I agree with FF

I don't care much for the skinny neck either.. why buy something you know you won't be entirely satisfied with straight away (and in the long run IMO), when you know you can get something to your own specs and of probably much higher quality..

They could have been that way all along, it's been a while since I've had that guitar so I could be remembering incorrectly. I have a photo of the serial number at home, I'll check when I get there later.

I liked the guitar overall quite a bit actually. I got it for the sole purpose of hot-rodding it and using it as a backup axe with a different vibe to it. It sounded great, the mahogany body was of decent quality (though the Tone Zone wasn't a good match for it after all), and it was solidly built. I just couldn't come to terms with the neck, I have extremely long, lanky hands and I would cramp up after 20-30 minutes of playing on it.

AAAAAAHH H*ll you're probably right...just having a G.A.S attack you know, you're minding your own business, then BAM!!

but on the other hand...$270 bucks !!??................................damn.

Yeah, G.A.S. is killer, but there's a trick. Buy something you're REALLY satisfied with and it will stay away MUCH longer .

I just hate it when you guys make sense......

Haha, don't worry bro, I only know because I'm learning the hard way! In the past year I've bought and sold several guitars in the $3-700 price range. Then I built a strat and it totally killed my guitar G.A.S. I'm only building another right now because I found a guy that could make an Ibanez JS type body, something I've lusted after since I've been playing and could only get on a production model with other features I didn't like. I probably won't be looking to buy any guitars for quite a while after I put it together .

All kidding aside, thanks for the help on this man... I'll stick with the Warmoth.

Have a good weekend!!

when i have the money i would buy it, definetly... dont remember how to spell it..hehehe buy you get the idea.
JJ

I'm gonna be different and say go for the RG321 (if you can get a good one and you like the neck). I personally love the Wiz 2 necks. Ibanez guitars play so fast. Change the pickups out for DiMarzios and yer set
