Hey guys.. Can you tell me if these pickups would work in the mid and neck for my RG 550 ? It's a maple necked guitar and I'm installing a Duncan Distortion Trembucker tommorrow in the bridge.. I've always loved that pickup in everything I put it in, and it has alwasy sounded sweet, with great harmonics, etc.. I want to do stuff like Steve Vai, but blues too and I think it's better than the Evo for this personally.. Not as bright maybe, but I like it that way.. Ok, but I also need the other pups to work with the DD, and be loud enough, split ok, etc, etc..

So now I need a mid single coil and neck humbucker.. I want the single coil for clean arppegio type stuff but needs to split with the humbuckers well of course.. See link below for Single coil.. Two of them..
First is a SD, second is a Rio Grande.. I hear great things about the Rio.. I thought it maybe really good for single coil sounds by itself for clean arppegio stuff and to split with the DD or whatever humbucker I get?

Single Coil Link: from : localhost/Grande Half Breed: from : localhost/what for the neck? I want harmonics, to be able to play blues to shred? What about the Full Shred for the neck? What about the PG for the neck? What about the Jazz? I want as much treble as possible with harmonics galore, etc.. That ZZ Top sound, and all the way to Paul Gilbert's song quot;BROquot; which uses a Dimarzio Humbucker from hell .. Check out the specs on it.. It sounds like a bridge pickup almost it's so bright.. to me it does at least.. I do stuff from Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Ted Nugent, Lynard Skynard, Jets, Saliva, Heart, Jackyl, etc, etc.. so I needed a versitle guitar, etc.. I'm going to be running with a tech 21 tri od straight to the board which is the greatest piece of equipment for this use.. I'll also be using a Delay pedal, EQ for clean boost or maybe the seymour duncan boost if I can find one locally, and a chorus and wah wah.. Probably a Morley.. just to give you the background.. I've found that the Tri Od is like using a tube amp on a big pa with a pro horn, etc.. Check out the ratings at harmony central.. Most of the guys that use it are experienced like me, and OLD..hehe..

Thanks man..

Well, for the middle position, I'd recommend you an SSL-5 because it should be able to get along with the high output DD... I wouldn't mix up different brand pickups in one guitar anyway... so you should mybe better stick with SD only
For the neck, I am not really that shure but I'd say the Full Shred instead of the Jazz.. just because the Jazz is wuite low output compared to the DD... I think it should also be able to play blues...

Thanks man.. I appreciate it.. a lot..
