Well I just went over to switch my amp on, and when I reached around the back for the on button I got a bugger of a static shock...
I never actually switched the amp on, and the first thing I did was switch off the mains power and remove the plug - that was the right thing to do right?
I was wondering if it's safe for me to plug into the amp, or when it would be etc.
The amp is sat on a thick carpet but hasn't been moved in well over a month.
I really wanna plug in right now, but if it was going to kill me I might re-consider
you may have been the source of that static. what happened was that the static in your body got grounded through the amp. i think it is safe to try it again. just ground yourself (on anything metal, doorknob, etc. with the back of your hand) before you do it.
how bad was the shock? was it just a tingle or does your whole arm feel numb? if your arm feels numb/weird, there is something wrong with the amp. get it taken care of.
Nah my hands fine, it still works.
