I currently have two drive pedals. One is a Sparkle Drive, which I plan on keeping. The other is a Boss DS1. I cannot say that I am totally satisfied with that pedal. The only way I can describe the sound is a little mushy. I'm looking for something better quality in a distortion pedal. I'm also probably going to get a pedal with a true bypass ( see my other thread today ). The Sparkle Drive is perfect for the bluesy overdriven stuff, but a good distortion is what I'm lacking. I was looking at the ProCo Rat2 and the Vintage Rat. There is also the Marshall Jackhammer. I have never played either pedal though. Please give me some opinions on what a good choice would be. Just for clarification, I do not play anything harder than Kiss, VH, Deep Purple, ZZ Top etc. No extreme or death metal. Thanks.

Have you tried running the Sparkle Drive into the DS1? I dont know, might work. I have heard good things about the jackhammer.

Spina moded DS-1

Check this out....I use a Marshall Jackhammer....Love it and it's the only non-modded pedal on my board! Seriously....Great pedal!
