When you push down on the string, it is too close to the other frets to ring properly, and instead makes a weak buzzing noise. A proper set-up will usually fix it.
frets out all the time
this means that you need to Level the frets.
if you cant do it yourself, you should take it to a qualified tech to do the job.
when we play the guitar alot we were out the frets unevenly as we play so in certain areas they are more worn out that others.
so all the frets need to be 'leveled' so they are all at the same hight.
or else if the guitar is relatively new than you need to properly adjust the truss-rod and the action of the guitar. The tailpeice can be set at what ever height is comfortable to you, but dont make it too high or your intonation will be off higher up on the guitar.
my 2 cents
I have the tailpiece all the way down.thanks for help
All they do to level a fret is tap it down by resting a wood block on the fret and hammering on it.
Its a major pain in the ass if you have more than 1 fret thats off tho, you tap it down then the next fret to it messes up and so on...
So yea, take it to a guitar tech.
this happened on my acoustic. my dad doesnt like paying ppl to do stuff that he thinks is easy, so he filed the fret, with sandpaper, and got part of the fretboard sanded too. take it to a guitar tech!
*edit* i guess now i kind of have a slightly scalloped fretboard, yngwie would be proud.
