Ok im gonna be building a super start in a few months and dont have much expirence with speed/thrash metal pickups. Im lookin for a sizzling high end that will sound good with overdrive. Its gonna have a bass wood body, floyd rose . Any ideas?

Want something else than SD? Nothing beats EMG for that, IMO.

Duncan Distortion maybe?

I have a guitar that is those specs, and found out something miraculous. I tried tons of Duncans, like the C-5, CC, Custom, 59, and always felt something wasn't good enough.

Then, by luck, I decided to pull out 1 of my Gibson 498T's, which I didn't like in my Les Pauls. I pulled it from my junk drawer, and installed it into my Basswood Gamp;L Legacy Deluxe, and voila, there it was! A pickup I normally passed on was the perfect match for that wood! And the polepieces actually lined up pretty well. There's a zillion guys here with 498T's they wouldn't mind unloading for cheap.

I hated the Gibson 500T in my Explorer and pulled it out and stuck it in a Strat and it sounded way better in the strat. Wierd.

How come everyone always forgets about the Duncan Full Shred???? That would be a killer choice!

Liquid, you´re gonna have to be a bit more precise... We need to know also what kind of amp you´re using and what you want the rest of the tone to be like...

I can recommend you a dozen pickups, all with a quot;sizzling high endquot; that quot;sound good with Overdrivequot;, all of the ones named will falli nto that category on someone´s setup....But otherwise tonally ranging from quot;Mosquitoes in a Canquot; to quot;Godzilla on Steroidsquot;

Well name a few thats all i want out of this. I got a mesa walkabout with a peavy cab (no real idea of specifics) and a boss overdrive.
