HAY GUYS.
I just picked up a JCM900 series Marshall 1960A cab on ebay, and everything's a-ok with it except one of the speakers has mold on the cone (and a stain on the grille cloth, maybe it was next to the guy's bong ), and maybe its just coincidence but that one sounds a bit quot;scratchyquot; and the output of it seems to be maybe a few db lower than the other three. Keep in mind i wouldnt have noticed that unless I'd been RIGHT next to the speaker when it was on. Still works though. but I'd like to get rid of that mold if possible.
So how do I go about cleaning the speaker w/out damaging it?
Merry Xmas guys
pull that speaker and check to see if the voice coil is rubbing. i suspect that it is, and will need to be reconed.
I'd probably try rubbing alcohol on a washcloth.
I'll try both, thanks guys.
At any rate this gives me a good excuse to pop in two V30s for the X pattern I was planning on doing anyway.
Set it on fire
