Anyone have/play one of these.

After listening to 'The Endless Jam' (I'm assuming he used the Dean) I'd say his Gibsons sound better (earthy-er)

Edit; make that 'The Endless Jam Continues' He used the Gibson on the former.

I haven't played one recently, but I owned a Dean V a long, long time ago (see link in signature, and no laughing).

I don't know about the Schenker, but mine had a maple top hidden under the white paint. Since normal Gibsons are all-mahogany, they would sound comparatively quot;earthierquot; than a maple-topped Dean.

Those Deans are supposed to be real classics, hang on to it.I could hear My Sharona playing in that pic,

Nope, sold it years ago and became more of a Tele guy. It was a great guitar, but kind of uhh... gaudy. I bought my first Duncan pickups ever for that V: I first tried a Distortion, then settled on a Custom.

Sorry, no My Sharona. What I like About You, yes, but no My Sharona. In the quot;Vquot; days, that band did a lot of Benetar, Motels, and Missing Persons, including a killer version of Mental Hopscotch. I don't think I've ever seen another band cover that tune.

i played the dean schenker custom in the store the other day, and it played pretty damn good. didnt get to plug it in, but the playability was very good. frets were a lot smaller than i like (which is the case with all deans ive played), but the neck was pretty nice. played better than the gibson faded v that was there, and theyre both similar in price
